Concept & Objective
The goal was harmony: between structure and nature, luxury and simplicity. Every beam, joint, and void was calculated to serve both design intent and environmental context. Guests live not just inside the space but inside the forest’s quiet majesty.
Living Among Giants
The vision for this project began with the trees specifically, how humans could inhabit a space without disturbing the ancient rhythm of redwoods. Inspired by Scandinavian forest cabins and West Coast modernism, the structure becomes part of the scenery, not separate from it.
Redwood Horizon reimagines a luxury getaway in the middle of towering redwoods
Built with complete respect for the natural ecosystem. Designed for a private estate family, the space balances raw material tactility and high-end functionality. The structure is shaped by the forest lines every window placement and roof angle aligns with tree canopies and light direction.
It features panoramic glass panels, hand-finished timber framing, and a minimalist stone hearth anchoring the living space. Soundproofing and ventilation were adapted to forest conditions. Custom furniture and locally sourced artifacts enhance the immersive experience. The result is not just a house but a curated retreat to disconnect and reconnect.
